Afrimari was founded by members of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers Temi Binitie and Gemina Cooper at Rev. Jesse Jackson’s ‘Economics of Colour’ tour in 2007.
Temi Binitie FICS
Background
Currently, Temi is a senior Aframax Charterer at AET UK Ltd, commercially managing the fleet of Aframax tankers trading in Southern Europe and the North Sea and Baltic markets. Prior to this role, she managed AET’s growing clean tankers inclusive of time spent within the operations department. Also, she has worked in the Liner Trade industry at Hyundai Merchant Marine in a trade management function. Temi is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers. She passed her LLM in Maritime and Commercial Law with a Distinction from the University of Wales, Swansea and holds a qualifying LLB from the University of Reading.
Gemina S Dina FICS
Background
Currently, Gemina has been Director of Human Capital Management at Gladius Commodities since 2017. Previously she was the Gas Sales and Marketing Manager at Gasol Plc an AIM-listed Africa focused gas independent. A fellow of the Institute of Chartered Shipbrokers, Gemina worked as a broker for Braemar Seascope Ltd for over six years specialising in the LPG Market. Gemina focused on VLGC loadings west of the Suez Canal representing indigenous African companies exporting ex West Africa. Prior to joining Braemar she worked for Quantum Shipping Services a consultancy providing commercial and financial consulting services for litigation and investments. Gemina holds an MSc in Energy Trade and Finance from Cass Business School in London and a BA in Politics from the University of Kent, Canterbury.
